    Tk 30,500 crore ADP approved by NEC

    The National Economic Council (NEC) on Tuesday approved the annual development programme (ADP) for fiscal 2009-10 involving Taka 30,500 crore. Chairperson of the NEC and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting at the NEC Building here.

    The fair will display agro-based products, light engineering tools, ceramic and melamine products, textile and apparel, processed fruits and vegetables, readymade garment, milk products, furniture, fish and fish feed, jute-based products, pickles, fruit juice, jam and jelly, poultry, cane and bamboo products, cottage industry, plastic and organic products, jewellery, watches, food products, drinks and herbal medicine.
    The central bank has set the highest interest at 12 percent for financing import (opening letter of credit) of edible oil, grams, pulses, peas, onions, spices and dates in a bid to keep prices bearable. 

    FinanceMinister AMA Muhith yesterday assured RMG exporters of financial assistance in the next budget to enable the largest export-earning sector to tackle fallout from the global economic crisis.

    The government is going to expand its next Annual Development Programme (ADP) to near about Tk 29000 crore, ignoring experts' suggestion to limit the development budget within it's capacity to implement.

    PM assures expatriates of welfare bank

    Tk 3,424cr stimulus plan announced

    The government today announced a Tk 3,424 crore stimulus package to tackle the fallout of global financial meltdown. Finance Minister AMA Muhith this morning announced the much-expected recession package before the press at the ministry conference room.

    If finalised, the ADP for fiscal 2009-10 would be 20 per cent bigger than the current fiscal year's (FY) original ADP and 32 per cent larger than the probable revised ADP.
