Menon, in reaction to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's 48-hour ultimatum
on Monday, said the Dec 18 election "must be held on schedule."
Menon after meeting Awami League president Sheikh Hasina at her Sudha Sadan residence on Monday night told bdnews24.com: "I had
talks with Sheikh
Hasina about Khaleda Zia's ultimatum and we want elections on the
scheduled dates."
"Our stance is clear and we are against any change of schedule," he stressed.
Menon also said he and the AL chief discussed the issue of seat sharing among the 14-party alliance.
