Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now on an official visit in Saudi Arabia, has said the government will take steps to establish an expatriates' welfare bank and provide the expatriates with their voting rights.
The government will arrange permanent residences for the hajj pilgrims at Mecca, the premier said at a reception ceremony organised by the expatriates at Mecca, reports ATN Bangla.
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hasan Mahmud, Labour, Employment and Expatriates Welfare Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian, were, also present at the ceremony.
The prime minister is going to Madina today to offer fateha at the holy Rouza Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM).
Earlier yesterday, she performed Umrah at Mecca. While performing, Umrah Sheikh Hasina prayed for the Muslim world.
