70.89pc pass SSC exams : 62,307 obtain GPA-5


The results of the SSC and equivalent examinations 2009 under ten education boards were published yesterday showing success rate at 70.89 percent as against 72.18 percent last year.


A total of 62,307students have scored GPA-5, the highest since the introduction of the international grading system in 2002. 52,500 students got GPA-5 last year.

A total of 10,58,674 students appeared in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations and of them 7,50,538 came out successful. Pass percentage for boys and girls is 73.13 and 68.41 respectively.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Naheed officially announced the results at a press conference at his ministry's office yesterday. He thanked all officials and employees of the education boards for publishing the results in 60 days as per the promise of the ministry.
